Crude oil prices advanced on Wednesday, initially driven by reports that U.S.–
Iran nuclear talks had broken down, before later headlines suggested
negotiations were back on following diplomatic pressure. Prices were further
supported by industry data showing a sharp, unexpected draw in U.S. crude
inventories due to production disruptions from extreme cold. Hence, Brent
crude soared by 3% to $69.46 per barrel.
